On April 1st (no April fools) we went via bus to Leopardstown to the Microsoft offices. Over 2,000 people work there. The building was unlike anything we had seen before. For a start it had a digital waterfall coming from the top floor all the way to the 'lake' at the bottom! This was before a staircase which the call the 'Mountain' because of it's design. There are 5 different restaurants for the staff and a yoga hut.
After the tour of the building we went to the 'Dreamspace' area. It was so cool, loads of beanbags and Minecraft blocks that were really furniture. We got fruit pots, juice for snack and later a delicious lunch complete with cookies and crisps :)
We really enjoyed the 2 tasks we had to do. The first was coding a Microbit. It was fun to actually have the Microbit and test it out. There was really good music being made! The second task was in teams and we were working on mixed reality which was amazing!!! We had to work together to take pictures on the theme of Microsoft's global goals and add in VR- like a polar bear coming after us or a large popcorn in our hands.
Ben and Amanda showed us how to make our photographs into a short moive and we all got to watch each others. When we were going home we all got goodie bags which were full of great things.
It was the best school trip EVER
