Engineering in a box
4th class are taking part in a STEAM programme called Engineering in a box.
Each week we learn about different aspects of engineering and we also create following the engineering process of planning, designing, testing and reviewing our prototypes!
Week 1 - we learned all about infrastructure. We made paper bridges that held markers and bird feeders to shelter and provide food for birds.
Week 2 - we learned all about engineering for energy. We made a pulley system and a wind turbines.
Week 3 - we explored biomedical engineering and different examples we see in our everyday lives. We then created our very own artificial hands!
Week 4- we made circuits using led lights and 2 different batteries. We then used play dough as an insulator nd got creative with our circuits!
Week 5 - we used our knowledge of circuits to create imaginative circuit pictures that incorporated led lights
We enjoyed engineering in a box SO much, we're very grateful to have taken part in it and are sad it's over!
