Supporting your child’s positive mental health

6th Oct 2021

October is World Mental Health Month and National Parents Council (NPC) are running FREE online information sessions for parents of children in two settings, parents of children in primary school and parents of children in early years’ education.

The information sessions for parents of children in primary school

"Supporting Parents to support their Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing" are taking place on the 11th to the 15th of October.

This programme supports parents to encourage and promote positive mental health and wellbeing in their primary school children. The programme also explores how the building of resilience in children helps them to manage and cope with the day to day stresses of life as they occur.

Parents of Children in Early Years Education

The Early Years’ information sessions entitled “Supporting your child’s positive mental health in the early years” will be held on the 12th, 13th & 14th of October and the 19th, 20th and 21st of October.

The environment that a child grows up in and the relationships that a child has with their parents in the first five years of life is very important to the development of a child’s long-term positive mental health.
