We have been focusing on the theme of Homes in November. We learned about different types of homes, in the past and present. We also learned LOTS about animal homes or habitats as they're known.
There are many different types of habitats, grasslands, rainforest, ocean, lake, garden etc. We did a matching activity where we had to work as a group to place a variety of animals in the correct habitat but found that some animals can be found in more than one habitat.
We made incredible dioramas at home, brought them into school, displayed them and are in the middle of presenting them to the class. We also researched on iPads and laptops to gather facts for our animal reports. We compiled our facts and made them into these cool animal report books!
Our art was inspired by our animal investigations too, we made fierce tigers with chalk and oil pastels and worked together as a class to create a huge diorama on our noticeboard showing the ocean habitat.
