Dec 2020 Christmas History Interviews

10th Dec 2020

In December, 5th class have been taking part in an online workshop with Dervilia, a local historian from Creative Residency.

In the last week the pupils have been given the opportunity to act as real historians - interviewing an older person about their experience of Christmas growing up, to compare it with their own experiences.

The class did an excellent job and found out some really interesting things. Cowboy suits were a very popular gift for young boys to get for Christmas and someone even found out their Dad was sent a turkey in the post!

We had a great time comparing Christmas in the past to Christmas today, as well as sharing different Christmas traditions people and other cultures have.
